Apple’s Safari 3.1 making it’s way onto iTunes-using computers

Most people who use iTunes or QuickTime for Windows will be aware of the updater program that updates your software for you whenever a new version arrives on the virtual shelves. Most of you will not be aware that the apple updater has been pushing software other that QuickTime and iTunes as of late. Recently many user’s of Apple’s QuickTime or iTunes on Windows have been met with an unexpected guest: Safari 3.1

Safari

Apple claims that Safari is the world’s fastest web browser (and I tend to agree for the most part), but forcing a new, unfamiliar browser upon unsuspecting Windows users is a bit sneaky. Personally, I’d be chuffed if all Windows users started using Safari, and leveraging the already huge iPod & iTunes user base is a great way to make atleast some of them switch.. But I also believe forcing it upon them isn’t the right way to go about it - it will only confuse people who most likely are just recovering from this new “firefox” thing.. Leave your opinions in the comments.

I have seen this download, and I am on Windows. I have mixed thoughts about it, but I will probably install it eventually for testing purposes when I code websites.
