30 Great Simple Blog Layouts

Here is a selection of my favorite simple blog designs. To qualify for this list, the blogs had to have clean, effective layouts with little clutter, a good choice of colour, shape and design, and not rely too much on images. Loading quickly, having good content and quality writing skills also helped.

Viget Engage

Following on from our post the other day on Viget’s design blog Inspire, we bring you Viget’s marketing blog, Engage. Of course we’re focusing mostly on the web and graphic design elements, but as with any website, Engage’s content is just as important as it’s beauty. For readers of Blogmastr, engage is a perfect choice to feed your marketing article hunger. Their layout, as well, is just as you’d expect - unique, stylish and elegant. Check out engage here and then check out the people who run it.

Viget Inspire

Viget is a graphic/web design company which also happens to have a series of amazing blogs. One of which is Inspire. A nice, artsy background with a painted-esque feeling sets the tone for Viget’s design blog; a very insightful, interesting and down right awesome read. There isn’t really a consistent time frame between posts - sometimes you wont see a new post for a week, sometimes there’s multiple posts a day - but every post they do make is interesting and, sometimes, inspiring.

How Long Will It Take To Get A List Of One Million Blogs?

That’s what the guys over at MillionBlogList.com are asking. What their website is, is basically just a wiki where they’ll collect a list of blogs. You can add your own blog to the list, and you don’t even need to sign up. Currently the last blog on the list was none other than yours truly, at number 67.

The only rules are you must add your blog to the bottom of the list, but if you do something special like linking back to millionbloglist or writing a post about it (ah-hem) then you can also make your listing bold.

So lets see how long it’ll take to get from 67 to 1,000,000! Everyone add your blogs now :D
