I don’t know how many people this has been happening to, but when I installed Wordpress 2.5, great as it is, suddenly I could no longer upload images! Oh nose! Now, to save everyone out there the hassle of finding a solution themselves, here is what you have to do:
- Download The No-Flash Image Uploader from here (thanks wordpress).
- Upload the file named “no-flash-uploader.php” to you wp-content/plugins directory.
- Activate the plugin called “No Flash Uploader” in your plugins page in wordpress.
There you go! No more image uploading problems.

When I first installed Wordpress 2.5 and saw the new Admin Interface, the first thing I thought was Why don’t they make a front-end theme like this? It’s got some nice blues, grays and oranges and looks absolutely stunning.
So isn’t it lucky, then, that there is now an option for everyone seeking some 2.5 Admin-Themed love, thanks to FreshPress Theme. Rather than try to describe it’s awesomeness to you, just look at the image above and check it out at the links below:
So anyone wanting a nice new Wordpress theme, you should all check it out :)
Your favorite blog, none other than Blogmastr.com, is now powered by the start-of-the-art Wordpress 2.5. As of today (Sunday 30th March, 2008) we have upgraded our blogging system to the very latest version of Wordpress, 2.5.
As some of you bloggers out there will likely know, Wordpress 2.5 has been in the work for a very long time (around 6 months in total) and it’s finally come to fruition in the form of a stable release you can now download from Wordpress.org. If you’re an aspiring blogger looking to start a nice, healthy blog; we suggest you go there now!
Once we’d checked out 2.5 a little more, we’ll be sure to update you all with an in-depth review of this new installation, and perhaps it would be a good time to post a bunch of Wordpress tutorials for all those newbies just getting started?
Anyway, tell me what you all think and please reply here in the comments if you notice any errors/bugs/etc
The first thing most people want to do after setting up their blog, is to customize it, and the very first step in customizing your wordpress blog is installing a custom theme.
Now, mostly people obviously can’t afford to buy a theme custom made for their own blogs, so they’ll go looking for a free wordpress theme. To make this job easier for you, we’ve rounded up the best destinations for free wordpress themes.
Of All these, Theme-CSS has to be my favorite, but I’m sure you could find something on any of those sites that would suit your needs. So good luck, everyone! Customize and get blogging!
If you’re just starting out with your site, or re-making it, you have two choices: hand-coding or use a CMS (content management system). For those of you taking the latter route and not wanting to code your own, here’s my selection of the finest pre-made content management systems around.

Wordpress - One of, if not the best, most powerful and easiest to use blogging systems around - and it’s completely free! 2.5 should be out within the coming days :)

Drupal - the most powerful, extend-able CMS you can find. Modules and Themes for every purpose, taste or style are available either free or paid (boo!).

Symphony - gets a special mention because it is awesome and Australian Made! We Australians pretty much kick ass in everything we do, and this is a great example of kicking ass at making content management systems :)

Xoops - not as popular as Drupal, but yet still very professional and very extensive customization options.

TYPO3 - hasn’t been updated in a while, but still a very good, powerful and unique CMS.

Expression Engine - looks to be one of the most powerful and impressive blogging/cms engines ever.
